Today I attended Porchlight’s annual conference held at Kent College in Canterbury where I learnt more about their culture and work as a Kent-based charity supporting people affected by homelessness, poverty and inequality.
I participated in a workshop called ‘Creative Wellbeing’ lead by a Mental Health First Aider which was a mindful, hands-on craftivism session, creating a metaphor about Porchlight’s work as a charity and focused on what helps us feel settled and supported. We decorated small wooden houses while thinking about what was ‘on our mind’ and what helps people feel safe, included and at ease. I also learnt more about the work of the Mental Health First Aiders.
